All about Kathrine Fields

My name is Katherine Fields and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate. Having lived in a variety of places around the world including Panama, Argentina, Italy and Japan, I have extensive multicultural experience. I specialize in working with children, adolescents and their families offering guidance, crisis intervention, social/emotional learning, boundary setting, guidance for learning disabilities such as ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Eating Disorders, anxiety and depression.

My expertise includes learning disabilities, eating disorders, mood disorders and relationship/communication disabilities. I utilize integrated, strength based, solution focused therapies to promote overall health and well being, I offer guidance in helping people set and reach realistic goals.

In 2011, I partnered with the Austin Independent Schools as a counselor and dyslexia therapist. In 2017, I resigned from the Austin Independent School District to open a small coffee shop in the hill country of Texas. In 2020, closed the doors due to the unexpected pandemic. From that I learned that life can be hard at times, but that doesn’t mean it has to stop or go into an undesired direction forever. It’s important to
adjust to the unexpected, and am returning to the exciting world of work in the helping profession as a therapist. I live in Ft Worth where I’ve had the opportunity to work as an adolescent therapist doing both group and individual therapy in a hospital and partial hospital setting. I have also worked closely with families to increase communication skills to improve overall family relationships.

My formal training includes a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Eastern Connecticut State University.
