Samantha is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Fort Worth licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. Samantha enjoys working with couples and adults.
Samantha has experience in a variety of clinical settings. During her graduate internship she worked with adolescents, adults, couples, and families, with history of trauma, substance use, and domestic violence at a community agency and helped cofacilitate groups at a women's domestic violence shelter. During her post graduate internship Samantha worked as an LPC intern in an outpatient program working with an array of populations struggling with mood disorders, substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and life transitions with group and individual therapy. Samantha received her MA in professional counseling with an emphasis is marriage and family therapy at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX.
Samantha is passionate about working with couples reconnect in the face of conflict and works to help cultivate connection and communication within the relationship. Samantha uses a variety of techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, anxiety reduction techniques, and Gottman techniques.
Samantha values meeting her clients where they are at with a nonjudgmental stance and uses cognitive behavioral techniques to help reshape distorted thinking patterns to help find new solutions and cultivate an environment of acceptance. Samantha teaches a variety of skills to help each client work through different life events and stressors.
